Staying safe in the Heat!

Summer is approaching and as nice as this heat wave is, we need to be mindful of the importance to keep hydration levels up. So Carers please ensure that you are taking time to drink water between visits and that you are offering customers plenty of fluids during visits, It is so important that you carefully consider clothing choices are cool and airy.

Bottled water will be available from the office free of charge for customers and carers on days where the temperature is 25 degrees or above.

October 31st 2018

We are very happy to say that our Trip to Weston Super-mare was a huge success and all those who attended had a lovely time, We are now planning a trip to a Christmas market so please watch this space!

In the run up to Christmas we are currently reviewing our Business continuity plan to ensure that we are ready for the festive period, part of that means that we will be contacting all of our customers to ask if any of their, Contact details have changed, or if they require different service provision over the bank holidays.

  • Don't use alcohol to keep warm. ...
  • Check your heating. ...

Living Wage Accreditation !!!

April 2019

At Acorn to Oak Home care we are always looking for ways to support our amazing team of colleagues, as part of our annual review of terms and conditions we sought accredited recognition from the living wage foundation, this means that you can be certain all employees receive a minimum of £9 per hour including their travel time!

We also then decided to give all of our Senior teams enhanced pay rates! Because we truly do value our colleagues, and the amazing dedication they show.

Our first inspection by the Care Quality Commission

May 2019

We are so very pleased to say that we had our first inspection by the regulator 'the Care Quality Commission' and Acorn to Oak Homecare was rated as a 'Good' service! this was largely down to our outstanding team of carers who always go over and above.

We want to say a massive Thank you to all those who were part of the inspection and for the lovely words of endorsement given to the inspector, It is important that we share this report with all so that you can see what has been said, there is a link on the 'About us' page of this site which you can follow directly to the online report held on CQC website, however a summary of the report will be sent to all colleagues and customers.
